Mr. Velasquez, Adult Programs nominee, is the Chief Executive Officer of L.A. Works. He was appointed to the L.A. County Workforce Investment Board in May 16, 2000. Mr. Velasquez’s former business/professional experience include: Director of Financial Aid at CalState University-Los Angeles; Employment & Training Coordinator, Chancellor’s Office, California State University and Colleges; Associate Director, Economic and Youth Opportunities Agency of Greater Los Angeles; Executive Director, Rio Hondo Area Action Council, Inc. Mr. Velasquez’ professional and business affiliations include serving on: LA County Economic Development Corporation Executive Board; CalWORKs Community Advisory Committee; San Gabriel Valley School-to-Career Partnership Executive Committee.
