Mr. Smith, business member, is the Managing Director of HOPE Coalition America, and Director for California Government Relations for Operation HOPE. He is the former President of IFS-Bank@Card. He worked in the banking and financial industry for over 40 years. He is also a member of the Boards of Boys Scouts of America and The Transportation Foundation of Los Angeles. His business and professional experience include: Deputy Treasurer, State of California; President and Chief Operating Officer of Operation Hope, Inc.; Regional Sales Director, Resolution Trust Corporation; Small Business Owner, Vice President and Senior Banker of a California Bank; and a retired U.S. Air Force Colonel. Mr. Smith was appointed to the L.A. County Workforce Investment Board in May 2000.
