Ms. Shaw, a business member, is a Public Affairs Manager at the Southern California Gas Company. Ms. Shaw served on the former L.A. County Private Industry for 9 years, and was the Chair for two (2) years until that body transitioned into the L.A. County Workforce Investment Board in 2000. She was an interim Chair to the WIB until the permanent Chair was elected. In May 9, 2000, Ms. Shaw was appointed to the L.A. County Workforce Investment Board, on the recommendation of L.A. County Supervisor Gloria Molina of the First Supervisorial District. Ms. Shaw is the Immediate Past President of the Arcadia Chamber of Commerce, member of the Alhambra Chamber of Commerce, Board of Directors and Vice Chair of the Rosemead Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors. Ms. Shaw is also a board member of the San Gabriel Valley Economic Partnership, a prominent economic development organization in Los Angeles County. Ms. Shaw also serves on the L.A. City Workforce Investment Board. Her former business and professional experience include: Planning Associate, United Way, Inc.; Manager, Bureau of Census, Department of Commerce; and Field Assistant/Caseworker for Congressman Edward R. Roybal.
