Mrs. Powers, ADA representative, is a County Commissioner for Los Angeles County. She was appointed to the L.A. County Workforce Investment Board in May 2000. Mrs. Powers is past Chair of the Transportation Committee of the L.A. County Commission on Aging. She also serves on the Access Services, Inc. and is a founding member of the Advisory Committee. She is a member of the MTA Access Advisory Committee, and also serves on the Board of Directors, Outreach Committee to the Poor at the Cathedral of our Lady of the Angels. Ms. Powers has received numerous community awards and has worked extensively with, and has been a strong advocate for the disadvantaged, particularly persons with disabilities and older adults. In 2006, she received a Los Angeles County Volunteer of the Year Award.
